Rob McGovern, founder of two of the Internet’s largest job sites will be presenting a unique perspective on the online recruiting revolution. He devotes his life and career to building job site technologies and will be sharing his observations, findings, and predictions for the future. About the Presenter Rob is a 20-year veteran of the technology and media industry and one of the USA’s foremost career experts. He is the founder and CEO of the award-winning U.S. based Jobfox; the fastest growing job site on the Internet. Prior to founding Jobfox he was the founder and CEO of CareerBuilder. Rob led CareerBuilder to market leadership to become the No.1 job board in the USA.
Rob is the author of Bring Your 'A' Game: The Top 10 Secrets of the High Achiever, which was published in July 2005. He's been featured on many national and local television and radio programs to pursue his calling: to help people with their careers.
McGovern's been a fast tracker throughout his career and was often the youngest executive where he worked. He started his career as a paperboy, interned at great companies like Disney and IBM, and had a long and successful career at Hewlett Packard Company. He struck out on his own to start CareerBuilder in 1995, and has been pursuing his career advancement quest since. McGovern also advises national leading venture capital firms and technology companies on strategic issues such as hiring and recruiting a winning executive team, as well the skillful execution of company mergers and acquisitions.
Rob maintains board directorships with several private and public companies, as well as two non-profit organizations focused on improving the education of inner-city youth. He was named the Entrepreneurship Institute's "Entrepreneur of the Year" in 1998 and KPMG's "Entrepreneur of the Year" in 1999.
