Every day, recruitment managers, consultants and their clients need to work with a diverse generational mix of Gen-Y, Gen-X and the Baby Boomers. But sometimes it can turn into an intergenerational minefield, where tensions and miscommunication negatively impact productivity, relationships and eventually, the bottom line.

Anders Sorman-Nilsson will teach you how to build cross-generational teams that fire on all cylinders. He will give you the tools and insights you need to create a workplace where ideas cross-pollinate across all of your team regardless of their age or background.

Session Summary
As recruiters and suppliers we are at the epicentre of the upended global talent crisis, and all play a vital role in the talent life cycle.

This breakfast think tank guarantees to be thought-provoking, feather-ruffling, innovative and fun. It represents the forward-thinking movement ‘from awareness to funky solutions’, and will provide you with plenty of food for thought and concrete advice on how to maximise your Return on Thinking in a world that is a little out of whack.

Problem/ Opportunity

  • What’s Gen Y turnover costing your business every year?
  • Is your workplace among the 90% suffering from inter-generational tension?

  • Do your Gen Y staff lack communication skills?
  • Are they impatient, low on emotional intelligence, or over-estimating their own experience?

Areas covered include

  • Learn how to create the following outcomes and behaviours...

About the Presenter
Anders Sorman-Nilsson
A reformed Australian-trained lawyer, Anders is the front facilitator at consultancy/training & development firm Thinque. He is an expert in Funky Thinking and its application as a problem-solving methodology in 21st Century business.

Anders is a maverick thought leader on how organisations and individuals can funky up their thinking, synthesize thinking diversity, and future-proof their business brains in a world that is just a little out of whack. Anders facilitates think tanks that get cross-generational teams to fire on all cylinders, identify organisational thinking blindspots, and teach organizational leaders funky problem-solving skills to maximise their Return On Thinking.

Anders’ clients include Macquarie Bank, ANZ, Singtel Optus, Minter Ellison, Finity Actuaries, Nutricia, Bollywood Giant Zee Entertainment Enterprises India, Sydney Roosters, the Australian Legal Practice Managers Association, TEC, the Local Government Managers Association, and the Department of Education and Training, who he provides with food for thought and fuel for action.

He holds a BA / LLB (Hons) and a GDLP from the Australian National University, and a highly theoretical and mostly impractical Specialisation in International Law from the University of Vienna.

Anders is the author of the ‘Gen Y 2.0 Lime Green Paper: from awareness to funky solutions’ (2007), ‘7 Career Mistakes Every Graduate Must Avoid’ (ebook), and has featured in Dale Beaumont’s book ‘Secrets of Great Success Coaches Exposed’, and his book ‘Think Funky: positioning your business brains in a whacky world’ is due for release internationally in July 2008.

In his spare-time, Anders likes to believe that his yogic dancer’s pose may get him into ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ 2009.
