Defibrillation Training Course


SLSSA Defibrillator Courses

Surf Life Saving SA will be conducting a number of Defibrillator Training Courses for its members who hold the minimum requirements to sit for this award. The course is approximately 3-4 hours in duration and participants will be provided workbooks at the course. Both theoretical and practical training and assessment will take place. Members who meet the following prerequisites* are eligible to register for the course:

  • Be a registered member for the 2008/2009 season.

 

  • Hold the "Provide Emergency Care" unit of competency
    One of the units of the Certificate II in Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue)

or

  • Hold a current SLSA Senior First Aid Certificate or equivalent.

 

the SLSA Bronze Medallion is not sufficient by itself

 

 

 

 

If you have a first aid qualification from another organisation (not Surf Life Saving), please provide a copy to the office for validation.

 

* Persons not fulfilling the above criteria (ie do not hold a minimum of one of the above awards) will not be permitted to attend the course.
